History

Mennonite pioneers, mostly from Pa. and Va., settled in this area of western Ohio in the early 1800's. The first log cabin church was built here in 1843. After several name changes, the building that would be named the Salem Mennonite Church was built in 1883. Today, the congregation is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds and ages. Our desire is to provide a warm, caring and sharing community from which we are able to minister to the needs of others and be an attractive witness to the love of God.
